Nepenthes Villosa is a fascinating species of Nepenthes with toothy pitchers and hirsute leaves. The species originates from Mt. Kinabalu and Mt. Tambuyukon, where each form is slightly different. This form is the Tambuyukon form, which is known for producing pitchers that are slightly more elongated. The pitchers also appear to possess more red coloration, likely due to possible edwardsiana introgression in the past. Because the Tambuyukon form grows at a lower elevation than the Kinabalu form, many growers attest that this form is easier and more vigorous. I have not been able to confirm this; both this clone and the ABG (Kinabalu) form I have appear to grow at the same pace.
N. Villosa is a strict highland plant that is only recommended for experienced growers. It's crucial to make sure the plant grows in well draining soil and is not overwatered or kept too moist on the leaves or near the plant base (Villosa and Edwardsiana are particularly susceptible to crown rot when young if kept too moist).
Each plant is from a random selection of 8 clones from our lab.
This plant is about 0.75" in diameter. Plant will be shipped unpotted, priority.
